China to Set up A Full-fledged Software Outsourcing Industry
06/03/2009
SHENZHEN, Feb 10, 2009 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- China has listed 20 major cities as the demonstrated cities for software outsourcing and will stand firmly behind them with the most favorable policies.
The twenty cities are Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Dalian, Wuhan, Harbin, Chengdu, Nanjing, Jinan, Hangzhou, Hefei, Nanchang, Changsha, Daqing, Suzhou, and Wuxi.
It is good news for Chinese software outsourcing companies. It reflects the determination of the Chinese government in establishing a homegrown software outsourcing industry.
The government hopes to set up a full-fledged software outsourcing industry to compete head on with India.
On top of that, it pins its hopes on the software industry in a bid to offset the damages suffered by its manufacturing and financial industries. The rapidly worsening global financial crisis has prompted the Chinese government to speed up the transition.
